multum in parvo     latin. 'Much in little'

Everything should be made as simple as possible, but not one bit simpler.

-Albert Einstein

Simplicity is an acquired taste. Mankind, left free, instinctively complicates life.

-Katherine F. Gerould

A truly great man never puts away the simplicity of a child.

-Chinese Proverb

Don't worry about what anybody else is going to do… The best way to predict the future is to invent it. Really smart people with reasonable funding can do just about anything that doesn't violate too many of Newton's Laws!

—-- Alan Kay in 1971

“Conceptual integrity is the most important consideration in system design.”

“The purpose of organization is to reduce the amount of communication and coordination necessary.”

“The programmer, like the poet, works only slightly removed from pure thought-stuff. He builds castles in the air, from air, creating by exertion of the imagination. Few media of creation are so flexible, so easy to polish and rework, so readily capable of realizing grand conceptual structures. Yet the program construct, unlike the poet's words, is real in the sense that it moves and works, producing visible outputs separate from the construct itself... One types the correct incantation on a keyboard, and a display screen comes to life, showing things that never were nor could be... It prints results, draws pictures, produces sounds, moves arms. The magic of myth and legend has come true in our time.”

-- Brooks' Mythical Man Month

My Blog.

This was my first major attempt at personal publishing.  I am particularly proud of the interviews on the blog, they feature great people who contribute a lot to the world.  I try to keep the format there somewhat like a magazine article.  I did experiment with a variety of advertising 'monetization' techniques but I did not find the payout worth the distraction on the page.

My Google Reader Feed.

These are news items that I am interested in, this is a good option if you are interested in my business or political activities.  If you have something to say about these items it's easy to participate with your Google account.  I'm always interested in a well prepared and reasoned argument or commentary.

Google Buzz.

These are more personal and up to date items on my day-to-day discoveries.  This option is high volume and is probably only useful if you work with me or know me personally.  You are also welcome here, but if you become a nuisance, you will be blocked.

Facebook.

This is only for people who I know personally.  It is generally not open to the public.  Much of what I post there is for humor value, but also some commentaries and various personal correspondence.

Ohloh.

If you are somehow involved in similar technologies to me, Ohloh is the best way to get in touch.  Its also a good way to learn about my technical background.
